2015 RAV 4WD 20K Miles (under warrantee)

Front brakes squeaking loudly since 5K.
This TSB (0096-16) came out in August 2016.
Dealer fixed the brakes no charge (Nov. 2016)

ps. I wonder how many other RAV owners are not complaining?

Squeaking Noise

I have a 2016 RAV4 Limited Hybrid AWD 24k miles. I have had it exactly one year.

So today i finally took my RAV4 Hybrid Limited to the Toyota dealer for an oil change that was due and the 2nd visit for the squeaking brakes. I never complain about anything but this squeak is so loud it scares me. I recorded it and when the mechanic went in the vehicle he also heard the noise. So they wound up shaving my drivers side rotor. I told them the noise sounds in the front and the back but he said he did not hear anything in the back. So i drove the car home and the noise is still there! I am furious over this. MY car only has 24k miles on it and the damn squeaking started when it was around 10k miles. I have been through 4 new cars and had them for avg of 6 years and i have never ever heard a noise like this ever. I have no idea what to do. The car is still under warranty. Does anyone know what is causing this noise is? So i can be driving regular and when i stop because of the inertia of the car stopping it will squeak when the car almost comes to a full stop and then when the inertia happens you hear the squeak again. In my sons opinion he thinks it is the struts. Everytime i hear this noise i get so nervous because it is so loud it makes me feel that the car is not stopping properly and if in an emergency i honestly think this car would not be able to stop properly. I even recorded the noise. MY VIN Number is JTMDJREV3GD005199

Yes, they shaved down the front left rotor. No luck still driving me crazy loud squeak. I have an appointment to go back on Monday morning. And the Mechanic drove the car around and said it was very loud. More loud in the front than in the back. I love this car but that noise is so loud and scares me.

So i took my RAV 4 back to service. They changed the brake pads and shaved the rotors. The noise is actually worse now. I love this car and all its awesome features. I just want the loud squeak to go away.

Any update with getting the new OEM pads changed? Did it make a difference? I recently went to a big name brake store for new pads, and now its squeaking like crazy even after 2 months of use. Thinking of buying the updated OEM pads and just installing them myself. Thanks!

Bring this TSB to the local Toyota dealer and the staff don't even want to look at it, said they would need to check the brake first to see if any issues. I said I also have a recording of the squeak if you guys want to hear, no interest... Finally, no surprise they said nothing found and charge me $45...

I have 2015 Rav4, I bought it in July 2016, I have same issue regarding brake noise, I took it to dealer 5 time, same run around with no results, Seems like Toyota don't care what happed to there loyal customers, they just want to make one time profit, but that's how all the good company go down, I have been Toyota customer for last 30 yrs. after this experience, No more TOYOTA.

Updates, took the car to local Midas, the staff was very kind and helpful. Don't even need me to mention, they just started searching the latest bulletin and found exactly the same one showing here. They ordered the parts right away and fix the problem, $200 and everything back to normal.

I have the same problem, I have spoke to the Elmhurs Toyotal dealership sooo many times, they keep stating nothing is wrong. I feel so dissapointed and frustrated.

Thanks for posting...I have a 2017 with same problem and only at 20K mi.
I hope I get help from Toyota Steven's Creek, otherwise goodbye Toyota. I went down this kind of road with Nissan and don't want to again.
