2007-2011 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid Sun Visor Warranty Extension ZTT

Initially my driver visor broke just as stated. I fixed it by tearing into the visor and using nuts/bolts, then sewing it up (looked hokey). Then the recall came out and I took it in and they replaced the driver's side, but not the passenger side. In the last week, the passenger side is doing exactly the same thing. However, I'm outside the VIN numbers (2007 Camry). According to the above reply, the dealer should have replaced both sides? Since they didn't, will they honor the warranty?

I have a 2011 Camry. My dealer says that it doesn't fall in the VIN ranges, however when I came to this page and saw the video it shows EXACTLY what happened with my visor. How can my car not be included? It seems that since it was a problem with other Camry's, Toyota would honor the recall for other Camry's that fall in the Model Year of those in the VIN ranges that are experiencing the same issue. I just spoke to Toyota and they just apologized and repeated what they heard me saying my frustrations were.
I feel that if other Camry's in those model years are experiencing the same issue that the VIN range should be expanded.

They're telling me that my 2011 Camry XLE is out of range too... and I am experiencing the exact same issue. It's almost caused a few accidents because of my limited vision!!
Who do I contact to hear our plea??

I have 2009 Camry with exact same issue as on video of falling visor. I checked on my VIN, but it was not it range! Please advise.
Thanks, Paul in Los Angeles

You need to contact Toyota and see if they will "participate" in a repair. That's about you can do if it doesn't fall withing the VIN range. Sucks, I know.

Surprise - who knew my biggest pet peeve in my 07 Camry was covered by this extended warrantee?!? I found the warranty by googling how to fix it myself.

I have a 2007 Camry that I inherited from my parents in 2008, who bought it new. We've had the car serviced every 5k miles at the same dealership. Since it was time for the 80k mile check up, I took the car in today, hoping they'd be able to fix the visor for me. They said no and I'd need to contact Toyota Customer Care myself.

I'm very disappointed that no one notified me about this - whether by Toyota or the dealership. I'm sure the repair people have been hit in the head by the droopy visor every time I brought the car in for service. Very annoying and a customer service FAIL.

I called tech support and since my warranty expired 3 weeks before!!!!, repair is not covered, eventhough I never received a notice in the mail about defective sunvisor.

I escalated to supervisor and they checked with my local Toyota dealer. I will be given a one-time $125 refund after purchasing a new sunvisor. Price of part... $70 extra for 1 minute labor. I will just install it myself.

So when the other sunvisor breaks, I will have to pay for it all myself.

Thanks for the follow-up and am glad that you at least got this one fixed.

Called today about the failed sun visor on my 2008 Camry Hybrid. Oh sorry, it's no longer covered; sorry it's unsafe and keeps falling into view. Should have had it fixed last year (it failed 2 months too late).

If Toyota knows the sun visor is an issue why do they limit the time for repair! I am the second owner of a 2008 Camry that the driver side visor broke about 2 months ago. I had to take the visor out just so I could drive without the limited vision is was causing by not staying up in place. I finally got around to calling my local dealership today - I called parts first then they transferred me to sales who said yes it was covered, but then said no it was beyond the 7 years so not covered. Back to parts to order it and pay $75 out of pocket and install it myself. A recall should be for the life of the vehicle.

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry. The sun visor on the driver side would not stay all the way up for a period a time and eventually fell out. The VIN is 4T4BF3EK8BR126090. The Applicable VIN range that I saw for 2011 is 2011 BF3EK R086081 R086082. Not sure if it is within the range. Will you please confirm?

My driver's side sun visor started drooping & came off 18 days past the 7 year warranty extension period. I contacted my local dealer & was told to contact Toyota customer care center. I contacted them & was told that they would not replace the visor as it was past the warranty extension. Said they wouldn't do it even if it was 1 day past the extension. All the cars I've owned have been Camrys. But there have been so many recalls & other issues with the 2009 model I won't be buying another Toyota.
