Applicability has been updated to include 2018 model year Tundra and 2017 – 2018 model year Sequoia vehicles.
The entire bulletin has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded.

Introduction:
Some 2008 – 2018 model year Sequoia and 2007 – 2018 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a popping noise during RH or LH front door operation. This noise may be due to a fracture/crack in the plastic over mold of the door check arm by the pivot area. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

New Part Number Needed:
Check Assembly, Fr Door, RH, B Ca 68610-0C031 and Check Assembly, Fr Door, LH, B Cab 68620-0C031


APPLICABLE WARRANTY:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure:
1. Confirm the condition exists.
Is a popping noise from the check arm present during RH or LH front door operation?
YES — Continue to step 2.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

2. Visually inspect for a fracture/crack or ANY damage on the plastic resin of the check arm by the pivot area. Is there a fracture/crack or ANY damage on the plastic over mold of the check arm?
YES — Go to step 4.
NO — Continue to step 3.

3. Confirm the torque value of ALL three check arm mounting fasteners

Is the noise still present after confirming the fastener torque values?
YES — Continue to step 4
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

4. Replace the check arm assembly.
A. Remove the check arm assembly.
B. Install the NEW check arm assembly.

5. For B-Cab (Regular Cab) ONLY: Replace BOTH sides of the check arm

6. Confirm the popping noise is no longer present.
