2007-2021 Toyota Tundra

Some 2007 – 2021 model year Tundra vehicles exhibit corrosion on the side step brackets. Examples of the corrosion condition are shown below.

A service kit has been developed to allow replacement of the side step brackets without replacing the entire side step assembly. The service kit also includes a plastic cover for added protection from corrosion. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Standard Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure:
1. Confirm the condition exists. Does the vehicle exhibit corrosion on the side step brackets?
YES — Continue to step 2.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

2. Determine vehicle applicability.
A. Go to Dealer Daily at
B. Enter the VIN number or search by vehicle model.
C. Search by part number:
(1) PT212-3407C-RR (chrome or powder).
(2) PT212-3407B-PT (brushed).

3. Remove the side steps from the vehicle

4. Disassemble the brackets from the side steps.

5. Reassemble the brackets to the side steps.

6. Install the side steps back onto the vehicle.

7. Visually verify the repair has been completed.
