Dear Sir,
I experienced brake pump failure of my Prius C car on 16 Jan 2022. It was towed to UMW Toyotsu Shah Alam and eventually repaired by 28 Jan 2022, for RM4078.80. I have paid for this.

However, after talking to several friends world wide (including Japan), I found that Toyota has called for the replacement of its Break Booster, 2012-2014 Toyota Prius c Coverage for Brake Booster.

https://www.toyoheadquarters.com/th...rake-booster-pump-assemblies-csp-21te01.2208/

From my understanding, my car purchased in 2013 should qualify for this replacement.

Can you please help? What should I do? How can I make this claim. The Toyota Service Center did not notify me about the replacement recall.

Thank you.

I explained to Toyota that I never received a letter whatsoever about my breaks. I have a 2013 Toyota Prius C that the extension is expired by only 5 weeks. They don't care. They won't honor it. They won't allow me to speak to a supervisor at Toyota HQ. The Toyota dealer wants $3500.00 to fix it while a local Garage believes they can get the job done for around $1000. What a horrible experience I had on the phone with Toyota HQ. I don't believe I will ever buy another car from them. As much as I like Toyota vehicles, customer service is awful... They won't do anything because it was a voluntary recall and not a government mandated one. Trust that I will be working on getting this a government mandated recall so that no Toyota owner has to die due to issues with their ABS system malfunctioning! One letter is all they say they sent; I did not receive it, so not sure that about that...If I can get this government mandated, I feel that I can possibly help save lives as with government mandates multiple letters have to be sent to the owners of these vehicles. One attempt Toyota? Wow! You really care about our safety! Shameful!

Toyota Prius C. On phone with corporate HQ they tell me my car is just outside of this
'voluntary warranty extension' I never got a letter alerting me to the fact there was a problem with my brakes. Anyone else have this issue? Apparently, Toyota only cares about our safety and it's customers lives for a limited amount of time/milage.

I have the same issue and never received the letter. My brakes failed at 75 mph and almost killed me. I was 2 month over the time and Toyota won't do darn thing. This is shameful and I will never buy another Toyota because of it. Unbelievable!

The ABS and brake booster systems malfunctioned, and the traction control became inoperative. I narrowly avoided a severe accident when forced to brake abruptly without a functional ABS. Toyota dismissed my concerns due to my car's 156k mileage. A formal governmental recall is necessary. I urge you to contact NHTSA and file a complaint. Toyota should issue a comprehensive safety recall instead of merely extending warranties that don’t cater to most affected owners. The dealership quoted around $4,200 for the replacement of the brake booster and ABS master.
