APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
2014-2016 Highlander Hybrid
2014-2016 Highlander

CONDITION:
Vehicles may experience a MIL ON condition exhibiting codes P314A and/or P0C73 with evidence of water (corrosion) at the A9 inverter water pump connector. This condition may be caused by vehicles being equipped with an aftermarket windshield assembly with a poorly sealed or damaged deicer harness.

Water can enter in through deicer harness, wick down to the common shared ground junction A72 and then wick from the A72 ground connector to inverter water pump connecter.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
If corrosion is found at the A9 inverter water pump connector, the following is recommended:

1) Inspect A33 windshield deicer connection-to-engine main wire harness for evidence of corrosion.

2) Check if windshield is non-genuine Toyota windshield. Toyota genuine windshields will have a “Toyota” marking on label and a Toyota part number on the deicer harness. The deicer harness and windshield come as an assembled unit.

3) Toyota recommends that windshields only be replaced with Toyota genuine parts. Toyota genuine windshields are equipped with seals for prevention of water intrusion to the engine room main wire harness.

4) If corrosion is found in the A33 connector and the windshield is a Toyota genuine part, please contact TAS.
