CONDITION:
MIL “ON” C1581 set after replacement of steering rack and the PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING function does not clear DTC

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Contact TAS for further assistance. If it is a weekend or holiday, continue diagnosis and repair. Please save all parts and/or details and contact TAS on the next available workday.

The way this is explained to me by my FTS was that the current production replacement racks are not backwards compatible with the earlier model year Camrys. I'd assume we will eventually get a TSB just a matter of when. They will send out the FTS (Field Technical Specialist) to recalibrate.
