If you run across a 2019 Toyota Rav4 with a water leak around the head liner or in the passenger side floorboard/kick panel, then you will want to check the grommets that hold the roof rack rails on. Here are some pics of the leak location and the connector corrosion. Also the TPMS light may be on.

My 2019 Rav 4 Adventure is having this issue. Had in checked out by Toyota last year - they told me to wait for a recall because many were experiencing the same issue. Took it back a month or so ago to the same dealership I always go to, they told me they haven't seen this issue before and that it would be 6-8k to resolve the issue. I am a single mom and purchased this car in hopes of having reliable transportation for the years to come. HIGHLY disappointed with this outcome. I even went to corporate about it and they basically told me I'm SOL. All I wanted was a reliable car but now I'm worried for corrosion to the airbags and electrical due to this water leak. So disappointed, will not be buying a Toyota again.

I have a 2019 RAV4 XLE. My leak is at the front of the rail and not the rear, on both the driver and passenger sides. Dealer said that there is no recall on this and the cost to fix the issue without replacing the roofliner is approx $1300. For just one side. A friend of a friend that used to work at the same dealership said it is a known problem and that the cost should not be that high to fix it.

My mother has a 2019 Rav4 Adventure edition and recently took it back to the dealership after she lost use of her windows and then the Blind Monitor Sensor and ABS sensor came on and stayed on. Dealership claimed water damage from sunroom due to spiderwebs. After further questioning the spiderwebs claim from the mechanic disappeared when I brought up the known water leak issue from the baggage rails in the roof. Claimed they did not know about that issue. When they went to check the rails and saw signs of water, now claimed repair would cost around $9k and would not be covered under the extended warranty she purchased. They are also unable to explain why it would cost $9k to correct the issue.

Please check with your dealership again. I had the same issue with water leakage from the headliner. Toyota is aware of this issue and there is a service bulletin to replace the faulty parts and clean the headliner.

Jess is correct!
Toyota just issued a Customer Support Program (CSP) called 22TE05 which follows Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0016-23. The CSP extends the normal warranty coverage from 3yr/36,000 miles to 10year/Unlimited Miles from the Date of First Use (DOFU).

My 2019 has roof rack leaking problem not long since I brought it new. Went back to the dealer and they want to charge me for cleaning up the roof drains. I cleaned it up myself using compressed air gun. Roof still leaks. Now, after 4 yrs, it is still leaking and not long ago, my ASC, cruise control, lane keep assist...etc are now all unfunctioning. I am so pissed and helpless since my factory warranty is now expired for a year. What can I do? I brought the toyota for its reliablity...now the car is just dangerous to drive and it only has less than 50k km on the clock.
