Introduction:
Some 2020 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a condition in which the Elapsed Time After Start does not update in the Trip Information menu on the head unit. The combination meter ECU logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

Warranty Information:
Reprogram the Combination Meter ECU

APPLICABLE WARRANTY (USA):
This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure:
1. Confirm the condition exists.
A. Does the Elapsed Time After Start NOT update in the Trip Information menu on the head unit as shown in Figure 1?
YES — Continue to substep B.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

B. Confirm the combination meter calibration.
(1) Use Techstream to confirm if the combination meter has been updated.
(2) Is the calibration ID of the combination meter listed in Techstream 8380004N0001?
YES — Continue to step 2.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

2. Reflash the combination meter

3. Using Techstream, perform a Health Check to confirm if the combination meter calibration has been updated and clear ANY stored DTCs.

4. Confirm the condition no longer exists.
