Introduction:
Some 2020 model year Tacoma double cab vehicles equipped with a Toyota genuine roof rack may exhibit a condition in which the cross bar interferes with the roof antenna. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
Production Change Information:
This bulletin applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown in T-SB-0083-20 Revision 1.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY:
This repair is NOT applicable under the Toyota New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Refer to Warranty Procedures Bulletin PRO20-05 for more information and additional claim submission requirements.
Repair is limited to the occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.
Repair Procedure:
1. Confirm the condition exists. Does the vehicle have a Toyota genuine roof rack and exhibit a condition in which the cross bar interferes with the roof antenna?
YES — Continue to step 2.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
2. Remove the roof rack from the vehicle.
A. Remove the cross bar by removing the Torx head pivot bolt with a T25 Torx driver and discard the cross bar. The right-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the left-hand side.
B. Remove the two wafer head screws with a T25 Torx driver at the front of the side rail and discard the screws. The right-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the left-hand side.
C. Remove the three pan head screws using a T30 Torx driver and discard screws. The left-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the right-hand side
D. Use a trim removal tool to peel the rear ditch molding strip from the vehicle. The right-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the left-hand side.
E. Remove the side rail by pulling it up from the roof and discard side rail. The left-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the right-hand side.
F. Remove the side roof rack brackets by removing the two button head bolts using a T30 Torx driver and discard the brackets. The right-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the left-hand side.
G. If the roof drip molding clip vertical walls have been removed, use a trim removal tool to remove the front molding clips and clip adhesive from the vehicle and discard the clips.
3. Install the roof drip molding clips. The left-hand side process is shown, repeat the process for the right-hand side.
A. Using an approved cleaner, clean the area where the roof drip molding clips will be adhered to the roof.
B. If present, remove the peeling paper from the face of the roof drip molding clips.
C. Install the roof drip molding clips using 3MTM Double-sided Tape (or equivalent). The front position is shown.
D. Apply 3MTM Autobody Sealant (or equivalent) along the edges of the clips.
4. Cover the 10-weld nut holes.
A. Using an approved cleaner, clean the surface of the punched vehicle seals and roof ditch. Remove ANY silicon and foam gasket residue.
B. Place a small amount of 3MTM Autobody Sealant (or equivalent) in the 10-weld nut holes to seal them.
C. Use the NEW foam seals to cover the 10-weld nut holes in ALL six locations. Place the NEW seal over the old seal.
D. Apply 3MTM Autobody Sealant (or equivalent) along the edges of the foam seal AFTER installed to the roof ditch and ensure ALL exposed edges of the seal are covered with sealant.
5. Install the front roof drip molding on the vehicle. The left-hand side process is shown below, repeat the process for the right-hand side.
A. Clean the vehicle body surface.
(1) Remove ALL double-sided tape residue from the vehicle body.
(2) Using an approved cleaner, wipe off ANY remaining tape residue and ensure the vehicle body surface is free of dirt or debris.
B. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the front roof drip molding.
C. Engage the front roof drip molding to the front attachment clip.
D. Starting at the front of the molding, press into the roof ditch evenly along the top surface and assure it is properly seated. Multiple passes of pressure along the entire molding may be needed to ensure the tape is adhered and it is correctly seated in the roof ditch.
6. Install the rear roof finish molding on the vehicle. The left-hand side process is shown below, repeat the process for the right-hand side.
A. Clean the vehicle body surface.
(1) Remove ALL double-sided tape residue from the vehicle body.
(2) Using an approved cleaner, wipe off ANY remaining tape residue and ensure that the vehicle body surface is free of dirt or debris.
B. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the rear roof finish molding.
C. Attach the rear roof finish molding to the rear attachment clip.
D. Tuck the rear bottom edge under the rear window molding, then press evenly along the top surface to ensure good tape adhesion to the body surface.
7. Visually confirm the repair is complete
