Applicability:
2022 Toyota Tundra
VDS(s): KB5AA, KB5AB, KB5CD, KB5DA, KB5DB, KB5GD

Introduction:
Some 2022 model year Tundra SR grade vehicles may display a Multi-Information Display (MID) warning message “LTA Malfunction – Visit Your Dealer” and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U013787– “Lost Communication with Trailer Brake Control Module Missing Message” is set. (SR grade vehicles are not equipped with Trailer Brake Control Module.) Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure:
1
. Confirm the condition exists.
A. Using Techstream, perform Health Check.

B. Is DTC U013787– “Lost Communication with Trailer Brake Control Module Missing Message” present in the Lane Control system?
YES — Continue to substep C.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. C.

C. Is the calibration ID of the Forward Recognition Camera or Radar Sensor 8646F0C11000, 8646G0C11000, or 8821F0C11000? 
YES — Continue to step 2.
NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

2. Reflash the Forward Recognition Camera and Radar Sensor.
A. Reflash the Forward Recognition Camera to calibration ID 8646G0C15000 / 8646F0C13000.
B. Reflash the Front Radar to calibration ID 8821F0C13000.

3. Reset the Forward Recognition Camera and Radar Sensor.
A. Use the following link to run the reset tool. Tundra: Reset Tool

B. Turn the ignition off.

4. Using Techstream, perform Health Check and clear ANY stored DTCs.

5. Confirm Lane Trace Assist and Radar Cruise Control function normally.

All of those sensor pop up once the LCD pop up and tell me to update and everything went to crap. The dealership making up excuse not to fix my truck. It’s a 22 Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD
