This Post is to help you understand the Toyota Certification Label and just like the VIN Label, it can help you and your Toyota Dealers Parts Department order the correct parts. The Toyota Certification label on newer vehicles is located on the drivers front door jam....

On older Toyota vehicles, it may be located under the hood in the engine compartment. This is what they will look like and how to break down what each area means.

You see the VIN number is again listed, as well as the Exterior Paint Color (Color Code), Trim Color (Trim Code, L means Leather while F means Fabric), the Model Code (aka Katashiki Code), the build Date, as well as the Axle Code and which Transmission came in the vehicle.
