I just wanted to piggyback off this thread here and also update the information as to what its like working at a Toyota Dealer. The contributors to this forum all have experience working on Toyota vehicles and even working for Toyota or one of its business partners. I can personally tell you that I have seen many changes in what its like working at a Toyota Dealer. Not just in how different dealers treat their employees or how they operate but also in the type of work we Dealer technicians see on a day to day basis. There are quite a few more recalls now than when I first started.

If you are interested in becoming a Toyota technician, then a great place to start is in getting a 2 year A.S. degree from your local community college. There is a program ,in cooperation with Toyota, called T-TEN that some colleges offer. This is very beneficial in not only getting manufacturer specific training but also a head start on gaining Toyota Certification. You can search here to see which colleges offer this program and also read more about the program here.

Here are a few current Toyota Technicians that post their social media online and have shared some further insights to what it is we do.
