This is happening to 2019 Rav4 too! And now dealership wants 1300 dollars for a safety issue! After researching this issue online other RAV4 owners have been having this issue since the car came out! Why hasn't Toyota addressed the issue with the DCM then? when cars were still under warranty? I filed a complaint with the NHTSA regarding the DCM issue. Next should be a class action for failure to address a known safety issue with the DCM software.

I have battery drain issue with 2020 RaV4 Hybrid XSE. Twice I went to drive the car and 12v battery was drained. Symptom that I saw was error message the electric brake was not working. Had enough juice for display to show error because not enough juice to release electric brake I assume. Google told me what to do (just needed a jump) and Toyota wants to charge for service to update firmware (39K miles)...of course after the diagnostic inspection. My solve, $70 battery jump starter off Amazon AND cancelling the remote app subscription which I read is one cause of battery drain.

I agree with filing a class action my car is experiencing battery drainage issue and I have to come out of pocket because I’m past 36k which is unfair. Toyota never sent any documents on this issue to me at all let me purchase vehicle in 2021 knowing it needed in update in 2020? This is crazy! So stressed out right now

My 2022 RAV4 had the battery drained dead after reactivating the remote started. Luckily, I was under warranty. I asked the same question you
are.asking. Why wasn't there a recall due to this problem. I was stranded and had to have my car towed 100 miles

This happening to my 2020 RAV4 Hybrid XLE as well. Bought in Feb 2020 and in Dec 2023, I had battery died. Checking with Toyota dealer, came to know that it needs DCM update and charge me $380. These should have been covered by toyota... Just for update, had to pay too much within 4 years. Toyota is also not able to fix my tank issue as well. After replacing tank and fuel guage sensor as well, I do not get more than 10 gallons filled when almost empty.
