Please see T-SB-0162-19

*** Please also see Toyota's Warranty Extension for this paint condition here.

2008 - 2015 4Runner
2008 - 2017 Avalon, Camry
2009 - 2019 Corolla
2009 - 2017 RAV4

Some 2008 – 2019 model year Toyota vehicles painted with either 070 Blizzard Pearl or 040 Super White may exhibit peeling paint on one or more metal body panels. The paint may peel between the primer and E-coat layer, exposing the gray or brownish-green E-coat. The affected panel(s) will require prepping and repainting to address this condition. The paint repair may need to be sublet to a body shop.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
The Warranty extension above has a separate coverage time and mileage....

• The Primary Coverage will be offered until December 11, 2022, regardless of mileage.
• After the Primary Coverage, the Secondary Coverage is applicable for 10 years from the date of first use, regardless of mileage

I have the same problem with this paint on my Sequoia as do many others if you look at various message boards. Why is it not included in this campaign? Do I need to get an attorney and file a class action?

Let me know. I have a 2016 Tacoma. The paint is pealing. My dealership at first said Toyota would cover it but now I’m getting a run around.

My 2012 Toyota Prius C2 is peeling and it looks awful. They need to add all white Toyota's between those dates!

2016 white Tacoma with peeling paint. Why are others with the same paint covered but not the Tacoma? Anyone have any updates? We are getting the run around from Toyota.

I’m have a 2013 Highlander as well with blizzard pearl that’s not included. I have already paid $1,000 to have the roof repainted and now it’s peeling from around the front windshield. I love my vehicle but this is very disheartening. I have already filed a complaint but they said not enough people had filed on my year model and type. They know it’s a known problem and they should fix it regardless of the year or model.

I have a '14 Tacoma and its peeling around the windows on all 4 doors, my roof feels like 320 grit sandpaper, and my hood looks like it will start peeling soon. I only have 40K on my truck, I bought it new, actually this is my 3rd Tacoma, and I have been complaining about my paint since about 2018..... it's gone nowhere! I received a notification in the mail a few years ago and nothing ever came of it. I had an estimate about a year ago for $4,000 and its since gotten worse. I've owned 7 Toyotas since 2006, 3 Tacomas and 4 Camrys, I currently have 3 Toyotas in my driveway. These 3 will be the last if Toyota doesn't fix my paint, I'm disgusted with the whole situation!

My 2008 Gray Highlander sport has extensive pitting of the paint on the hood and the paint oxidized severely. I’m a life long Toyota customer. This was my 5th Toyotta… never had issues with my Corolla, Avalon, Camry, Pickup 4x4 and now my Highlander looks horrible. Anyone else with issues with a Highlander.
